MINUTES
1. Welcome/Roll call:

2. Review/Approval:
September 17, 2009 minutes were read and reviewed, the minutes will be sent to Marcus Ashley (President).
3. Financial Report:
We are deferring the report until next months meeting. A collection of $750.00 from Assabet and Blackstone was taken for the 450 club raffle.
4. Old Business:
4.1: 450 club raffles needs tickets for Blackstone #450-499 and JP Keefe #500-599
4.2: Membership recruitment: Rick asked if anyone was recruiting new and old members. There was a positive response from the Central chapter.
4.3: Executive board wants to reword the application for MVA membership regarding payroll deduction only if available at each school.
4.4: The MVA Central Chapters minutes will be posted on the MVA website.
5. New Business:
5.1: Executive meeting update:
a. What is the MVA supporting
b. A lawyer was hired to represent the MVA
c. Chapter 74 service program defined better
d. Influx of retiring vocational teachers as well as incoming teachers and
certification, these individual should be MVA members
5.2: Revamp of policy and procedures manuals to a small pamphlet
5.3: Senate update: Chapter 74, new teachers becoming MVA members and
floor finishing.
4. New applications: see 5.1
5. Membership cards: Executive board wants official MVA membership cards.
6. Membership brochures: The MVA wants the membership brochures to be revamped to attract more individuals to the organization. People should want to join the MVA, not the MVA wanting them to join.
7. E-mail blast: News letter via email on a monthly basis to members.
8. Discount programs: The MVA would like to provide a discount card to local areas, more information to come at a later date.
