Eastern Chapter MVA Grant Application

 

Statement of Intent:

The goals of the Eastern Chapter MVA

            *to promote the improvement of education

            *to provide money for the realization of projects developed by educators for use

In the classroom/community

*to provide opportunities whereby education and its progress and improved through continued efforts of educators.

 

Grant Application Criteria:

To promote these objectives, we ask those people who are directly involved in and have similar concerns about educational improvement to summit grant applications using the following criteria.

 

General Information:

The Eastern Chapter Massachusetts Vocational Association awards grants to projects that promote community service. Grants are funded up to $200.00. Cost sharing and/or collaborative ventures are encouraged. E.C.M.V.A. does not encourage application requests for the purpose for supplying materials that should be provided through the operating budgets of the school systems that are eligible. The Association will not participate in the payment of salaries or expenses that would be otherwise incurred. All projects must be completed within the school year granted.

 

Every component of the application criteria must be complied with clearly and must be received by the deadline, in order for the application to be considered. Two copies of the application must be provided to the President of the Eastern Chapter, Massachusetts Vocational Association on or before Dec. 15th of the current school year.

 

Criteria:

 

A)    Include a one paragraph project abstract, with the title of the project and the amount requested.

B)     The proposal shall be no more than two pages in length, single sided, which shall clearly answer all the following questions:

 

1.      What is the project title?

2.      Who is responsible for the project and the grant money?

3.      When will the project begin, and when will it be completed?

4.      Who are the other co-sponsors?

5.      What is the objective of the project?

6.      What qualifies you to succeed in the project?

7.       How does the project address the goals of the community service project?

8.      What tangible product will be the result of the successful project?

9.      How do you plan to proceed toward the successful completion of the project?

10.  Does the project lend itself for sharing with educators interested in the improvement of education and/or community service?

 

Budget:

 

A one page budget summary must be attached answering the following questions:

 

  1. What is the cost of the project or part of project?
  2. What is the amount of the grant requested?

 

The budget should be written in the following format:

 

  • Total cost of the project, total request and managing money obtained.
  • Indication of application for matching funds from other granting organizations.

Requirements of Grant Recipients:

 

All grant recipients are required to:

           

1.      Provide a written acknowledgement of funds to Eastern Chapter MVA upon completion of the project.

2.      Use the name of the Eastern Chapter MVA on all copies of the product and on all publicity announcements. 

3.      Upon completion, provide a typed overview of the project to the grants chair.

4.      Inclusion of the statement “project funded in cooperation with the Eastern Chapter MVA” on all project documents.

5.      Be available to share project with teachers who find the material to be of value.

6.      Allow Eastern Chapter MVA to acknowledge recipient’s in MVA publications.
