About Us
The Massachusetts Vocational Association was founded in 1930. The first president of the MVA was Harold L. Pride. He taught manual arts in 1936 and later became the director of the Waltham Trade School until his death in 1954.
October 18, 1976 the association was incorporated.
In 1988 the Massachusetts Vocational Association, Inc. became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Our membership is available to anyone who would like to support and preserve Vocational/Technical and Career Education at both secondary and post-secondary levels. We have approximately 1400 members. Administrators, associate, teachers, retirees, school committee members, and support personnel associated with vocational/technical and career education makeup our membership.
We are affiliated with the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). With your support as a member to both MVA and ACTE will give the vocational/technical and career education community representation at state and national level involving vocational/technical and career education legislation affecting us.
